Provenance: Exhibition Gallery Lauter, Mannheim, 1966
Remarkable representative of the French Informal. Actually a lawyer, came 1944 to Paris. The artist (see Fig below left in his Parisian studio) was married to the artist Natalia Dumitresco and shared the studio with the sculptor Constantin Brancusi in Paris. His works been exposed at serveral international exhibitions and can be found in major museums and galleries. He received numerous awards including the Prix Kandinsky.

Note: A similar, smaller work by the artist, titled: "Octatenque" (gouache, 37 x 50 cm, 14.6 by 19.7 in), signed and dated "(19)64“ is in the collection of the German museum Kunsthalle Mannheim (see inventory no. M1648), acquired in 1966 at the exhibition in Mannheim, same provenance as above.
