Karl Heidelbach

Oil on canvas, 100 x 125 cm (39.4 by 49.2 in). Signed and dated "(19)76“. Original slim studio frame.
One of his so-called Kneipenbilder (Pub-Pictures), located in Cologne Germany. The depicted persons are from the family of the artist and close friends (see fig. below). Also portrayed Nikolaus Heidelbach (see no. 4), the son of the artist, today a famous German book illustrator. Person no. 2 began suicide one year before the picture was painted, the artist depicted him posthumously.
